My Progressive Plan for the Future
Anyone remember when the 'Grand Old Party' were the good guys? After this latest extortion by the GOP to stop the government from raising the debt ceiling, I'm done trying to 'keep an open mind' about the Republicans. It's time for the Progressive to take over the world.
STEP 1: THE AMERICAN STATEHOOD PROGRAM:
We need to reach out to Mexico, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and make each of them an American State, until we have everyone. If we're aggressive about it we should be able to assimilate everyone in about 50 years. There'll be an Eastern Coalition and a Western Alliance. There'll be squabbles but we'll handle it. We'll do it under the platform of basic civil rights. The right to a roof over your head, food in your fridge and health care. Look up the 'Second Bill of Rights' that Roosevelt would have pushed had he lived to do so.
STEP 2: Once we have everyone in our club, we change our title from the United States of America, to: UNITED EARTH. We form the United Earth Space Probe Agency and begin colonizing the Moon, Mars and several asteroids. Somewhere around this time we should be able to prove that Life Is Everywhere, and we are just one tiny world of people in a galaxy full of living beings. When the Vulcans land, humans realized that we were just one people among many, and we proceed to eliminate war, poverty, hunger, disease and injustice. We change our objective from collecting money, to improving ourselves. Improving Humanity.
STEP 3: Hopefully we'll have our 'Zephram Cochrane' and we'll build ships and explore the galaxy, having sex with all kinds of alien species...I mean, meeting all kinds of alien species. I ask you, do you see Private Corporations accomplishing all of these things? The Enterprise was commissioned by Starfleet and the Federation. We know they're Democrats, and the GOP are Ferengi, to me, anyway. Before the revolution on Ferenginahr, their women weren't permitted to wear clothes or speak, let alone make any profit.
I hope my little plan didn't scare you too much. It's just something I thought up. Live Long & Prosper!!

The Future: Republic or Democracy?
As the week ends and I'm faced with the possibility of not getting my social security next week, I've found myself justified in the opinion I have of the 'Grand Old Party.' They are 'bought and paid for' Tyrants who consider the needs of those who line their pockets over the poor, elderly and disabled. How they are able to do this and not fear their own God leads me to believe the following: Politicians and Evangelists are ALL atheists preying on the weak-minded. They pretend to be god-fearing people but in reality they stand on the backs of believers who believe in them.
If you call yourself a Republican or a Tea Bagger, you ally yourself with those who are a THREAT to democracy. Let's change this country from a Republic, to a Democratic Nation. Soon 'Sanctuary Districts' will appear, operating as prisons designed to be occupied by the poor and jobless while the rich slowly kill off the middle-class.
It comes down to principles, boys and girls. Do you want to live in a Republic where the wealth and power is restricted to the top 2% who have taken the jobs overseas and left this country an economic wasteland? Or do you want to live in a Democracy where we all have a voice and prosperity is shared by ALL? Jobs programs that will restore our roads and bridges while also providing jobs to the masses. The Federal Emergency Employment Act can bring this idea to reality. Why subsidize entire economies all over the world when our own people are denied the basic rights of human existence here on Earth? Why use our military as a global police force when they should be HERE protecting us? Why cancel the space program when we're less than 50 years away from First Contact? Why are we not deploying solar energy collectors that would provide power to EVERYTHING without harming the environment? Why do we have to pay for an internet connection when WE ARE THE INTERNET! It should be a basic right, to share information with one another, All the internet is is you and I connected to one network where we can all share data.
Did you see Star Wars? The Republic was evil. The Jedi were devoted to DEMOCRACY.
Do you watch Star Trek? The Federation are all Democrats. The Ferengi are the Republicans. By the mid 21st Century, humans discover they are not alone in the universe. They realize they are being observed and decide to get their shit together. They put an end to Poverty, Disease, War & Prejudice. I've been a Trekker since I was 6 years young. My parents tried to teach me religion but I found it to be inferior to the 'Star Trek' Philosophy. Live Long & Prosper.

Dark Matter from the Multiverse by Scott R Heath
I lay awake thinking of this stuff as I try to make sense of our universe and its origin. So this is my latest crazy idea.
In theory there is an area that our universe floats in called the Bulk, or the Multiverse. Other universes also occupy this place which is the birthplace of universes. The problem with the Big Bang theory is a real explosion would have created a much different universe. Once our universe sprang into existence, probably from a collision of two universes, dark matter rushed in and caused a massive inflation that's still going on today. Somebody do the math on this one because it's beyond me. It would solve several problems with the big bang theory. Dark Matter may be the common factor in all universes because it comes from the multiverse.

Is God Created By Our Minds, or Are We Created By God's Mind?
By Scott R Heath
So I'm watching this show on the science channel, because I'm a science geek. Morgan Freeman's Into The Wormhole. It's a show about the big questions in life. Is God Real? I watched this with an open mind and I must admit to having my doubts. I don't believe in a biblical or koranic god, and I doubt that'll change, but this show has altered my suppositions about supernatural beings.
Consider this: One side of our brain is the source for human anxiety. Fear of death, fear of predators, dark fears that have haunted man since he first obtained awareness of who and what he is. SO On the other side of our brain resides the solution to that anxiety in the form of something that needs to be eternal, never ending - a light in the darkness. God originates from that side of the brain. A presence can be detected in a human by applying a magnetic coil just over that side of the head. The subject begins to feel a presence. GOD is created to save us from our dark emotions. With this belief intact over the centuries humans gained hope from those experiences, as part of our evolution.
Now consider that modern atheists have evolved to the point where we can face these anxieties and conquer them by REASON and RATIONALITY instead of being conquered by our own inner software. We've outgrown the need for gods and supernatural beings. We can accept the truths of our existence.
The other intriguing theory suggests that our entire universe may be a simulation in a massive super computer - Everyone that knows anything about quantum physics know that particles at a quantum level behave differently if they're being observed, which is SPOOKY as h*ll. In the real world, matter is totally diffused unless it's being looked at. Just like what you'd see in a virtual environment, a video game possibly. We could be the Sims created by people in our future. In other words, god is a computer programmer and we're the Sims, created possibly to simulate all kinds of things. If this is so, I sure hope they have Carbonite.

People From The Internet by Scott R Heath
When I was a youngster back in the seventies, I met other young people at church, at school, and in the neighborhood. It was a different world. I rode bikes with a kid down the street from me on dirt trails behind my house. Your parents knew your friends. Mom would come in my room, I'd say, this is Tom from church, and she'd say hello.
Now zoom into the 21st Century. You're walking up the stairs and hear a bumping noise. You notice that noises are coming from your son's room and remember you just passed your son on the way up. Who's in your room, Son? Uh, it's Tina. Where'd she come from? The internet. Locality has been taken out of the equation. Now strangers pop up in just about any location. It's as if they suck people right through the ethernet cable into their rooms, people they don't know, people they don't even know if they get along. It's the "hook-up" mentality. They've done away with the dating, getting to know one another, they've refined it into something instant. I like your picture, come over and let me hide you in my room.
After ordering these strangers out, the youngsters can say how cruel you are for throwing strangers out. No, just don't want my house filled with people from the internet....Unless they're paying!
